Dollar, Yields and Liquidity: Three Different Dials
Dollar strength, Treasury yields and liquidity often interact, but they are not interchangeable signals.

A macro release matters through what it changes in expectations, rates and financial conditions before those changes reach the dollar and other assets.
A practical transmission chain is information -> expectations -> rates or financial conditions -> dollar and asset response. Each link can strengthen, weaken or reverse the simple story implied by the headline data.
Skipping the intermediate links encourages mechanical rules such as strong data equals stronger dollar even when yields, policy expectations, positioning or the dominant regime respond differently.
A growth or inflation surprise matters more for the dollar when it materially changes the expected policy path and Treasury yields than when those intermediate variables barely move.
Jumping directly from the sign of a data release to an asset forecast without checking the expectation and rates channel.
Trace the expectation and rates channel before assigning an asset-level conclusion to a macro release.
