Is the visible DXY move broadly confirmed, or is it mainly a narrow basket move?

Why it matters

DXY is useful but heavily concentrated in a small developed-market currency basket. A broader dollar measure can confirm or challenge the regime interpretation.

Inputs

• DXY direction over the published completed-week observation window
• Broad trade-weighted USD direction over the same window
• Dated rates, credit and volatility confirmation from the same repository snapshot

Data cadence and timestamp

Latest repository-published completed-week Three-Dials snapshot. Every source fact keeps its individual observation date; no market data is retrieved in the browser.

Show the snapshot week and each source observation date. Label the normal Monday/Tuesday publication window explicitly, and disable comparison if the latest published snapshot falls outside the approved cadence.

Use it in three steps

1. Read the dated DXY and broad-dollar observations without seeing the deterministic classification.
2. Classify DXY, broad USD and the rates/stress confirmation from the visible source evidence.
3. Submit the independent reading, reveal the deterministic dollar classification, and investigate any divergence before discussing assets.

When the evidence agrees

• DXY and broad USD moving in the same direction increase confidence that the move is wider than one currency pair.
• Rates or stress moving consistently with the dollar direction strengthen the regime interpretation.

When the evidence diverges

• A strong DXY move with weak broad confirmation can be basket-led or foreign-currency-specific.
• A quiet DXY with a firmer broad measure can understate pressure outside the legacy basket.
• Mixed rates or stress should reduce confidence rather than be averaged away.
